It's the hypocrisy, stupid.

From The New York Post Online Edition:
'I urge all those who honor Terri Schiavo to continue to work to build a culture of life where all Americans are welcomed and valued and protected, especially those who live at the mercy of others,' Bush said.
I just don't understand how someone can be as totally intellectually dishonest as Bush. When has Bush ever acted in support of the lives of people who live at the mercy of others. What has he done, for example, about the prisoners who died while in American custody? When has he ever spoken out about valuing life when it wasn't as part of a demagogic appeal to the extreme right wing. If he would only act on his words in non-political contexts, it wouldn't be so maddening.
